GreenTop®

For some time now, outer screens have been positioned in the greenhouse gutter. This requires a heavy, light-blocking construction and the surface becomes less accessible for surface water and surface vehicles. Together with a number of partners, Van der Valk Systems has developed and patented a new outer screen.

As opposed to the traditional outer screens, GreenTop® is not located on the guttering of the greenhouse, but on the ridge beam. The advantage of this system is that the guttering remains more accessible and that no accumulation of dirt can occur. Therefore a very compact construction can be produced and so the light is blocked to a minimum. The exterior screen can be mounted after the entire greenhouse construction is completed. As opposed to traditional exterior screens, this that means glazing operations can be performed before the exterior screen is mounted.

GreenTop® is also available with solar panels for generating electrical power. To achieve this, a fixed cover with solar panels is constructed that is mounted right on top of the screen package. This means that the solar panel does not inhibit additional light. The green energy can be used directly in the greenhouse and will give your crops a ‘greener’ appearance.
