The Dutch Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. wants to enhance the perception of The Netherlands as the leader in the field of sustainable greenhouse and horticultural technology and horticultural knowledge.
42 short, English language videos, in which interviews are used to explore current horticultural themes, have been produced for this purpose. Energy and energy savings, lighting and the relationship between sustainability and profitability are among the subjects discussed. The films provide a good summary of how knowledge and technology are used in The Netherlands to achieve sustainable horticulture.
Our Van der Valk GreenTop outside screen is one such technological innovation for making horticulture sustainable and it consequently has a central role in one of the short films. The large-scale use of this product by Ter Laak Orchids is unique in The Netherlands. Among other things, Richard Ter Laak discusses how he uses the system for maximum energy savings with maximum light yield.
